After undergraduate school at the University of Tennessee and a few years back in New Jersey I moved to Los Angeles where I lived for 13 years. I earned a masters degree in journalism and mass communications from USC, worked as a business reporter covering real estate and financial services and then segued into financial communications for a public relations firm. I moved to Virginia in 1990 and have been here since with the exception of 18 months in Charlotte, N.C., where I worked in the capital markets group for a major financial institution in its investment banking area. I am now senior media relations manager at the Nuclear Energy Institute in Washington, D.C., where I serve as a spokesperson on business operations, new plant financing and economics of nuclear power.
I am married with three children, two boys and a 15-year-old daughter in high school. I’m still at the health club lifting weights, on the cardio machines or playing tennis six or seven days a week.
